The proper definition of a silhouette is “the outline of a body viewed as circumscribing a mass.” In photography, often we achieve that effect by putting light behind the object whose silhouette we want to capture, effectively darkening out the features of the subject instead of highlighting them.

Mooi! Ik ben zelf ook fan van silhouet opnames, doe het bewust bij zonsondergangen bv.
Dan zorgt die flinke hoeveelheid tegenlicht er al vanzelf voor, en anders help ik het nog een handje met de helderheids- en contrast instellingen (niet veel hoor, ik ben alleen van de subtielere effecten)…..
Ik kreeg wel eens ongevraagde ‘goede’ raad, om veel ‘in te flitsen’ – bij bewust door mij zo gecreëerde silhouetfoto’s.
Haha, de ‘raadgever’ bedoelde het natuurlijk goed, maar had er geen snars van begrepen…
We werden het prompt dan ook niet eens…
In te flitsen? Je bedoelt de flits te gebruiken? Of is het een of andere vakterm?
Zoals ik al op Fb zei, ik ga er eens bewust mee aan de slag, thanks!
Waarom doe jij niet mee met deze foto challenge? Is echt erg leuk om te doen, altijd op vrijdag. Laat maar eens zo’n mooie zonsondergang zien
Wat hij bedoelde was: door bij tegenlicht de flits te gebruiken, belicht je de partij juist, die anders donker was gebleven. Maar zo ben je juist dat silhouet-effect helemaal kwijt…
Het is nu inmiddels een beetje kort dag, maar ik wil wel een keertje meedoen met de foto challenge op vrijdag, afgesproken!
O, ik heb het even gelezen, bij de Weekly photo challenge, en begrijp dat het deze hele week uit nog geldt.
Zoek ik morgenochtend idd even een mooie uit, Marion!
