Jake Sprinter’s assignment for this week is CLOSE-UP.
Close-ups are used in many ways, for many reasons. In filmmaking, television production, still photography and the comic strip medium a close-up tightly frames a person or an object. Close-ups are one of the standard shots used regularly with medium shots and long shots (cinematic techniques). Close-ups display the most detail, but they do not include the broader scene. Moving in to a close-up or away from a close-up is a common type of zooming.

It looks like you’re still doing cool things with your new camera. I love my Nikon too. Sometimes I think about throwing out my writing and merely doing photography. Much more rewarding.
I know how you feel, Christine. A photo can say so much and expresses beauty and feelings, without the use of words. Lately I have often combined my photographs with a poem or haiku and I love doing that.
Perhaps it’s an idea to start a separate photo blog too, like I have Eye-Catcher and Animalia?

The muted colors, right? Rust is an excellent photographic challenge too
Fire has a way of speaking as does wood and with rust, we know that history has taken place and there is a survival story.
