‘Sour Grapes’ refers to pretending not to care for something one does not or cannot have. Sometimes writing in a different language is hard. Fortunately I researched the meaning of the expression ‘sour grapes’ before I launched into writing about bad wine…

Beautiful photo! And I enjoyed the haiku, also.
Thank you kindly, Patricia
BEAUTIFUL photo! And beautiful haiku!
“Sour grapes” comes from the Aesop’s fable of the fox who tried and tried to reach a succulent bunch of grapes hanging on a vine out of his reach. At last, he gave up, saying, “Those grapes were probably sour, anyway.”
Always here to help. lol!
Ah, that explains the expression ‘sour grapes’, thank you so much, Marian! The poor fox, perhaps he should have chased a rabbit in stead.
The haiku form is interesting, it forces you to keep your words to a minimum, capturing the essence of what you want to say. I hope
A very sweet little poem, and I loved the photo. Very nice!
So nice of you to drop by, Nandini, and for liking my haiku
And excellent and elegant poem. Thanks, Marion!
Hi Paula, thank you for your kind comment.
yummy, George Clooney grapes! where do you come up with these wonders? Talk about sweetness fullfil me…
You can buy George Clooney grapes in every Dutch supermarket, Roxie
Guess who their main customer is haha.
Is there a personal message hidden …
No, Nancy. This haiku is written while trying to crawl into the prompt. Apart from the sweet but far away George Clooney-grapes, there is no sourness in my life.
